Citizen Number ’21

Citizen Number ’21 portrays the narratives of an old Muslim woman from Malabar, where she responds to the citizenship challenges posed by the government through the CAA and NRC. She loudly remembers the valour of her forefathers who fought against the British colonialists in the 1921 Malabar Rebellion. The Malayalam lyrics is juxtaposed with English rap by Haris Saleem, set against the background of the current moves to install NRC and CAA nationwide. Citizen Number ’21 is a music video directed by Sandheep, produced by Hum Bhi Production House under the banner Windowseat Pictures; it features Sarasa Balusseri and Haris Saleem.
