UP police arrested journalist Siddique Kappan, Atiqur Rahman, Masood Khan and Alam, three Campus Front leaders on their way to meet the family of Manisha Valmiki. Police seized their mobile phones, laptop and a pamphlet named ‘Justice for Hathras victim’ as mentioned in the FIR. It alleges ‘larger conspiracy’ to instigate caste, communal riots in Hathras and booked them under sections of UAPA, sedition and sections of IT act. This arrest is followed by the government’s allegation that “there is an international conspiracy to defame the government.”
The FIR accuse them of handling a website which UP police accuse of inciting violence in the name of Hathras case. When the uprisings followed by the case was all natural, the four Muslim men are accused of ‘conspiring the violence’.
Charges of terror funding and conspiracy on a Muslim journalist and student leaders who were on way to accomplish their duties as citizens, absolute impunity to the Thakur rapists when no justice to Dalits.
