When Abdullah was fooling oppressed religious people and not taking part in protracted resistance against fascism, Muslim women of Shaheen bagh were leading the inspiring struggle against Brahmanic Hindutva Fascism!
Religion is reactionary so are the religious leaders. When fascism knocks at our door, automatically religious people will be forced to disown the things which restrict them from resisting and defending themselves from exploiters. During NRC CAA protests, Kanthapuram AP Aboobacker Musliyar told Muslim women should not clench their fist and take part in protests. Who the hell is he to dictate women when Sangh Parivar is using rape as a political weapon against Muslim women?
The world is Patriarchic so are the fascists.Patriarchy is present both in Oppressors and oppressed but it’s the Oppressors who legitimises patriarchy and make it part of the ruling class ideas. The saviours or the people who lead the movements will also have Patriarchic elements. Women are the primary victims of oppression from home to the streets. They are the first ones to get oppressed by men in the home to fascists of the oppressing Regime. Unless they come out and participate in their liberation, fascism and oppression of all forms cannot be wiped out.
At present oppressed people may perceive religion to be the hope, but one day they will realise that the real hope for people are people itself!
